Based on facts, the plot portrays the rise of Kazuko Hosoki, a fortune teller who rose from anonymity to become a powerful figure in Japan, accumulating fame by advising celebrities and dominating TV shows with incisive predictions. Behind the successhowever, signs of scandals, obscure connections and suspicions emerge that put his credibility in question.
The story gains depth when writer Minori Uozumi is chosen to record this trajectory in an autobiography. During the process, as she listens to Kazuko’s reports, Minori begins to distrust the versions presented and notices contradictions that make her question the veracity of the events. Driven by this concern, she decides to investigate on her own, in an insistent search for testimonies and evidence that reveal what is really hidden behind the image constructed by the fortune teller.
The documentary series follows a disturbing real case in which a seemingly ordinary relationship takes on dark turns. The narrative shows Caroline Muirhead, a forensic pathologist who quickly becomes involved with a man she meets on an app, starting an engagement that seems promising.
The situation takes an unexpected turn when she discovers that her partner has a disturbing past linked to the disappearance of a cyclist years before.
