Originally from Britain, more precisely from the mountainous regions of Scotland, this dog was initially developed for sheep grazing. According to the Brazilian Confederation of Cinophilia (CBKC), it is believed that the modern Collie descends from dogs carried to Scotland by the Romans, who ended up crossing with native shepherd dogs of the region.
With more than a century of selection, the long collie has evolved to unite beauty and work capacity – even today, despite its elegant size, an agile and attentive grazing dog. 1. Physical appearance
Rough Collie is a large -size dog with harmonious, athletic and elegant body structure that conveys the idea of strength without losing lightness. According to the CBKC standard, males measure between 56 and 61 cm at the height, while females range from 51 to 56 cm. Its body is slightly longer than tall, with deep chest, firm back and long tail, usually low low at rest.
