The passion for football leads many Brazilians to pack their bags and explore new places. Recent research from Booking.com shows that 70% of the country’s travelers would take a trip specifically to watch a football match, while 79% are likely to travel to another city or country to watch a major live sporting event in the next two years.

And the interest goes beyond the match itself: according to the survey, more than half (56%) of Brazilians intend to take advantage of a sports trip to discover other attractions in the destination visited, showing that sport has become an opportunity to explore new places.

With games taking place in different cities across North America in 2026, some destinations may offer not only the opportunity to watch the matches up close, but also to experience tourist attractions and cultural. With this in mind, Marco Sobrinho, commercial manager at Booking.com in Brazil, highlights five cities that deserve to be on your itinerary. Check it out!

1. Philadelphia, United States

Considered one of the cradles of the independence of USAPhiladelphia has attractions that help tell the country’s story. Among the highlights are Independence Hall, where fundamental documents of the North American nation were debated, and the Liberty Bell, one of the best-known symbols of independence. The city is also home to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which features a vast collection of American, European and Asian art, including works by renowned artists.

The Reading Terminal Market is a historic market, dating from 1893, which brings together restaurants, cafes and local producers, offering a good opportunity to discover the region’s cuisine. For sports fans, it’s worth visiting the South Philadelphia Sports Complex area, which brings together stadiums and arenas for different sports and reflects the city’s strong sports culture.
