When a plane takes off, passengers’ attention is usually focused on the pilots and flight attendants. However, before the aircraft even leaves the ground, a large team of professionals has already worked to ensure that everything is in perfect condition.
“They are the airline workers, responsible for a series of activities that are fundamental to the functioning of aviation”, explains Henrique Cesar Gallina Barbosa, professor of Aeronautical Sciences at Unic Beira Rio.
In reference to Airline Workers’ Day, celebrated on June 22nd, we highlight five essential professions that make each flight possible. Check it out!
1. Aviation maintenance mechanic
Responsible for carrying out corrective and preventive maintenance of aircraft, the aeronautical maintenance mechanic plays a crucial role for operational security. Before each flight, several systems are checked to ensure that the aircraft is capable of operating within the most rigorous technical standards.
2. Airport customer service agent
This is the professional who provides assistance to passengers at different stages of the trip, from the check-in until boarding. In addition to guiding travelers, it helps resolve demands related to luggage, documentation and operational procedures, contributing to a more efficient and organized experience.
3. Flight Operational Dispatcher
O work flight operational dispatching is carried out in partnership with the crew to ensure safety and efficiency. “Little known to the public, the operational flight dispatcher is responsible for planning the air operation. 4. Ramp Operator
