Expert explains how to identify reliable campaigns, avoid impulse purchases and use groups of offers to benefit the consumer

WhatsApp has become one of the main relationship channels between stores and consumers. According to the 12th edition of Sebrae’s Small Business Pulse Survey, 82% of small businesses use the application to sell and communicate with customers. With so many offers arriving daily, however, it also becomes difficult to identify which promotions are really worth it.
For Hugo Silveira, entrepreneur, growth strategist and co-founder of Grupo HRZ, a holding company specialized in business growth, commercial acceleration and sales predictability for retail, e-commerce, clinics and service companies, the consumer needs to learn analyzing a campaign before deciding to purchase. According to him, not every promotion represents real savings.
“A good offer is not just a high discount. The consumer must observe whether the product really meets their needs, whether the store exudes confidence and whether the purchase conditions are clear from the beginning”, he highlights.
According to the expert, organized campaigns usually inform in advance when the promotion starts, how long it will be available and what benefits are part of the action. This reduces doubts and helps the consumer to make a more informed decision.
Care before purchasing via WhatsApp
Check out some precautions before buying:
- Compare prices before promotion to confirm whether the discount is true;
- Be wary of messages with excessive urgency, especially when they do not present clear information about the store;
- Check if there are official service channels and reviews from other consumers;
- Read the offer conditions, including deadlines, payment methods and exchange policy;
- Avoid purchasing just because you received a message. Ask yourself if you really need that product.
Official groups help prevent scams
Another important point is to only participate in official company groups. According to Hugo Silveira, many brands use exclusive WhatsApp groups to notify customers about launches, stock replenishment and limited offers, but these channels must always be managed by the company itself.
“When consumers follow a trusted brand, they are able to better plan their purchase and avoid decisions made only on impulse. Clear information benefits both those who sell and those who buy”, he states.
Discounts require attention and planning
The expert also recommends paying attention to excessive promotional messages. If a group sends offers in large quantities or without any organization, it is worth muting notifications or unsubscribing from the list to avoid impulsive purchases.
At the end of the day, saving money isn’t just about finding a bigger discount. Assessing the need for a purchase, researching prices and choosing reliable companies remains the best way to take advantage of opportunities without compromising your budget.
