May arrives full of news for Prime Video. Among the highlights is the long-awaited series “Off Campus”, a literary adaptation that promises to thrill romance lovers. Following the line from the page to the screen, there is “Da Toscana Com Amor”, an adaptation of the best-seller namesake by Felicia Kingsley, in addition to the third season of “Beautiful Omens”, inspired by the book “Good Omens”, by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. If you prefer narratives with a touch of mystery, the super adventure “Spider-Noir”, starring Nicolas Cage, is one of your best bets.

1. Citadel – 2nd season (06/05)

An original Prime Video production, “Citadel” brings espionage back to the Prime Video catalog streaming with the long-awaited second season. The new episodes, according to the official synopsis, show the events eight years after the destruction of the Citadel by Manticore agents. Now, the elite agents Mason Kane (Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Chopra Jonas) live in hiding, leading a new life without knowing their past after having their memories erased.

Everything changes when Mason is tracked down by Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci), a former colleague who needs his help to stop Manticore from establishing a new world order. “Mason searches for his ex-partner, Nadia, and the two spies embark on a mission that takes them around the world in an effort to stop the Manticore, while struggling with a relationship built on secrets, lies and a dangerous but eternal love,” the synopsis describes.

Inspired by Jane Austen’s classic “Pride and Prejudice”, “From Tuscany With Love” brings all the passionate aesthetics of Tuscany, Italy, while celebrating second chances. In the story, everyone in the village of Belvedere in Chianti seems to be in love, except Elisa (Matilde Gioli), a single mother who runs the Le Giuggiole winery. The unexpected return of Michele (Cristiano Caccamo), a friend childhood, changes her life completely, bringing to the surface memories and feelings that she believed she had overcome, and making her question whether she really closed the doors to love.

3. Off Campus (13/05)

Based on the books best-sellers by Elle Kennedy, “Off Campus” is a series that follows Garrett (Belmont Cameli), Dean (Stephen Kalyn), Logan (Antonio Cipriano) and Tucker (Jalen Thomas Brooks), a group of friends who are part of a hockey team and face challenges on and off the ice. Each season, a new romance comes to the fore, starting with Garrett, who falls in love with Hannah Wells (Ella Bright), a music student who doesn’t like hockey as much as she likes him.

But destiny decides to bring them together. While Hannah wants to get another guy’s attention, Garrett needs to pass ethics to avoid being removed from the team. It’s then that they make an agreement: she helps him improve his grades, and he pretends to be her boyfriend to make her jealous. However, this approach begins to get out of control and awakens very real feelings.

4. Beautiful Curses – 3rd season (13/05)

The third season of “Beautiful Curses” arrives on Prime Video with a different proposal of the previous ones. This time, the final outcome is told in a single 90-minute episode. This does not mean that the farewell will be less intense, as the chapter brings together the main conflicts of the plot, including the fate of the world and the characters’ internal dilemmas.

In the episode, Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and Crowley (David Tennant) need to deal with the consequences of their choices. While the angel assumes a new and high position in Paradise, the devil tries to move on after the separation. The plot promises to focus on the bond between the protagonists, delivering an outcome worthy of the duo’s journey, with the humor and emotion characteristic of the series.

5. Spider-Noir (05/27)

Based on the Marvel comic book, “Spider-Man Noir”, the series tells the story of Ben Reilly, a private investigator in bad shape who lives in the 1930s. According to the official synopsis, unlike the classic, Nicolas Cage’s version features an unfriendly hero, hardened by organized crime, who hunts “criminals in the nightclubs, skyscrapers and alleys of New York”.

The plot promises to get closer to a investigative style more traditional and also brings a difference that reinforces the aesthetics: the debut in black and white and color. The choice follows the character’s proposal and reinforces his own identity, something highlighted by executive producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who stated that the series works independently and is not integrated into the films live-action yes sony.
